Salad Becomes Her
I admit I've lost a bit of the wind in my sails this week. Eva's not called for duty, and payday's tomorrow. So, I humbly offer the details of my ho-hum salad for today, along with a scandalous confession that under peer pressure yesterday I went out to lunch (okay) and spent $13 (oh well) on grilled cheese (ouch!) Mediocre grilled cheese at that. With above average tator tots, for sure, but for $13 I could have made grilled Midnight Moon cheese (look it up) and tator tots studded with black truffles. At least the company was entertaining.Salad. (What more can I say?)1/2 C grape tomatoes: $.401/2 Florida avocado: $.40 (tasty, even though I was warned otherwise)1/3 Zucchini: $.25Not enough mesclun greens to even register on the scale: $.10Grana Padano Cheese: $1
TOTAL: $2.15
If it looks like I couldn't possibly have taken this photo at work given the china, it's true. This salad is also what I had for dinner last night.
And it's sideways. Hmmm. Whatever.I'm gonna need some guest stars pronto fo' shizzle snizzles.-P
ginger root is another one of those things one can buy in useful quantities without sometimes registering on the scale. maybe it's possible to create an entire salad that way.
ReplyDeleteYes! Salad made entirely of components that barely register. Mesclun greens leaf by leaf, ginger, garlic, a single radish. It can be done.
