Waldorf Steak Salad: Some Assembly Required (P)

Friends, Blog readers,

Sorry for the delay! My inclination as a stickler for details is to try to catch you up on everything we've done since the last we've posted. However, the part of me that acknowledges I've been procrastinating thinks it best to keep it short so I don't continue procrastinating.

So, rest assured, the last two weeks did happen, and we did do some creative and cost-effective lunching.

Back to the present:

If you want me to count the cost of the steak here, then I've gone way out of bounds of the Ladies Who Lunch spirit. But, the fancy steak dinner happened over the weekend with friends from out of town, and I was happy to spend the money for some really special Filet Mignon and even special-er company, so I'm not going to count it. So there. And Eva lucked out since I was in the mood to share.

Waldorf-Astoria Steak Salad
Filet Mignon (Forget it. I'm not telling you.)
Red Leaf Lettuce: $1
Feta cheese: $.50
Red Onion: $.20
Grape tomatoes: $.90
Tangerine: $.33
Toasted pecans: $.25 (if you're wondering why these are so cheap it's because I bought them at Stiles and shelled them myself.)
TOTAL: $3.18

The other special part of this salad is that I had to bring it all in 6 different containers for fear that some of the individual components would get sullied by hanging out too much together.

'Til tomorrow. No really, I mean it.

-P
