Adventures with Chili

It wasn't the chili itself so much that was the adventure - pretty straightforward shop, chop, saute, simmer.

No, it was something about the hardware required to transport the chili, saddling me with an extra bag than usual. I hopped on the downtown bus with 3 bags in hand, and somehow hopped off with only 2, leaving behind the bag with my swimming gear. Realizing this about 2 minutes after I got off the bus, I pulled a cinematic stunt, chili in hand, hailing a taxi with the instructions to "follow that bus!" Fortunately, the cab driver in question was kind of into it, and he caught up to said bus and helped me get the driver's attention, who then waited for me at the next stop so I could hop on and retrieve my bag.

Adventurous Chili for a Chilly Day:
Sirloin: $1.75
Red Beans (N/A - I don't even remember when I bought the can)
Onions, garlic: $.50
Red Pepper: $.75
Jalapeno: $.05 (no, I'm not kidding)
Carrot: $.20
Tomatoes: $2
TOTAL: $5.25 for 3 servings or $1.75 per serving
