I admit, I got schooled by SuperMac in the Mac & Cheese flavor category, despite the fact that I lovingly carmelized onions and cooked every component separately before piling the whole mess together and sprinkling freshly pulverized breadcrumbs over the whole situation. That's me on top and SuperMac on bottom:

What can I say, they must have a secret ingredient not indicated on their menu. Possibly crack.
Thanks to Eric who gamely admitted that mine was tasty and "lighter" than SuperMac's, and who also got some takeout so we could compare the two side by side. Renata also got me some chocolates for having made her lunch on Wednesday and Thursday.
I did however throw some gauntlets in the cost-effectiveness category:
Fakeout "Mac Burger" SuperMac to feed 6+:
Pasta: $1.89
1/2 lb ground beef: $2.93
1.5 yellow onion: $.41
2 plum tomatoes: $1.25
Pepper Jack: $1.64
Sharp Cheddar: $5.80**
Grana Padano: $5.07**
Whole milk: $1
TOTAL: $19.99 total or $3.33 per serving
**This is the actual cheese cost, though I bought these two with my fancy Groupon discount at Amish Market, so my actual cost was $13.79 or $2.30 per serving.
In either case, it sure beats the $13 - $15 per serving delivery cost. If only SuperMac wasn't so effing delicious!
Today we kiss our beloved coworker Peter goodbye. This apple pecan cake is the color of his hair:
(The dark part. Not the cream cheese icing part.) The cost of said cake is unimportant. It was made with luv.
