Sometimes, things in life don't go according to plan. I like to plan. I find it satisfying to consider all my options, and then plan a course of activities that I will enjoy while taking into account time, cost, and whatever other factors may exist.
This time, we were planing for a serious tour. Two legs of serious travel. Stop #1 included 3 performances in Baden Baden, Germany. Here are some images of the food and beers we consumed.
Then a funny thing happened. There was a volcano that was spewing ash into the atmosphere, and planes were grounded. But we were supposed to fly to Palo Alto, and the San Diego to perform as well!
Instead we were stuck in Baden Baden.
Which wasn't such a terrible place to be stuck. It was spring, and it was beautiful outside. The town was adorable and walkable. The boys somehow procured a grill, and we made a game of finding a new location to grill every night, which also turned out to be quite cost effective. We called it camp, and made faux schedules and daily reports of our activities to amuse ourselves.
As much fun as we had, we were certainly happy as can be when we flew back to the USA. I opted to fly to San Diego, really just for the tacos.
Next stop, Jackson Hole, Wyoming, which people say is an awesome place. Here's to hoping.
